Length of the Paper: 1000 words
Choose a historical figure that is significant to you and do a character study. This chosen figure must be someone from early to the medieval period. Employing perspectives from decolonial historiography, offer a critical evaluation of the person. Ask yourself at the least the following questions:
1. How is the person positioned in society and church in relation to power and access to scarce resources?
2. What contribution did the person make to Christianity? 8
3. What were the person’s strengths and weaknesses?
4. Was the person’s voice allowed to be heard?
5. What benefits/threats came out of the person’s actions? 6. What were the person’s greatest achievements/failures? 7. Etc. Instruction: 1. Consult at least three (3) reliable sources (online or library) that are relevant to your study of the historical figure 2. Give your assignment a clear and logical structure 3. Be clear about your view of the person
4. Present evidence to support your view of the person 5. Avoid romanticizing the person 6. Format your essay as follows: Font: 12 Times New Roman Space: 1.5 Referencing: Chicago Style Criteria for Assessment: 1. Reason for studying the chosen figure is clear 2. Your view of the person is clear 3. Evidence to support your view is sufficient 4. Critical evaluation of the person is thorough and fair
